Pevine Hollow Public Access is a great place to put in for an awesome float trip on the Illinois River. The access is convenient, and there is camping available if you want to stay overnight. I've heard it's free Monday through Friday, which is a nice bonus. The bathrooms were clean, making the stop even better.

Very nice gravel bar and a good place to swim for all ages. Im 5' - 11" and it's not over my head anywhere in the immediate area. Just about neck deep at the deepest point. The water does have a nice flow thru this area. But its not enough to keep you frim walking all thr way across the river.

Good access point. We drove right up to the water to drop off our kayaks. No issues. It was kind of trashy, so I spent some time picking up trash while I was waiting on my partner to be shuttled back to start our float.

PLEASE BE CAREFUL, on the shore close to the swing. Usually seen as a rope jump area. Water can be very deep as it’s meant to jump in. There can be very low points in the water. A 21-yr old man drowned in 9’1/2 feet of water during Labor Day after going in and not knowing how to swim. Please be safe. No one reviews this spot so I take it upon myself to warn people looking for places to swim to warn them!
