REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS:
PURCHASE OF MOBILE WORK UNIT

Explore Cherokee County / Tour Tahlequah is soliciting proposals from interested individuals, businesses, organizations, or other qualified parties for the purchase of a retired UPS delivery truck currently owned and used by our organization as a mobile tourism center.

Vehicle

The vehicle is an older UPS delivery-style truck that is being made available for purchase AS-IS, WHERE-IS.

The vehicle is currently not in drivable condition. Known conditions include:

  • Nonfunctional brakes requiring repair.
  • No functioning air conditioning.
  • The vehicle is not currently suitable for operation on public roadways.
  • When operational, the vehicle has historically operated at speeds of approximately 55 miles per hour or less.
  • Additional mechanical, electrical, structural, or other repairs may be necessary due to the vehicle’s age and current condition.

PURPOSE OF THE RFP

The purpose of this RFP is to identify a qualified party interested in acquiring the vehicle and assuming responsibility for its transportation, repair, rehabilitation, modification, or other intended use.

Explore Cherokee County / Tour Tahlequah is open to proposals from parties who may wish to restore, repurpose, convert, or otherwise utilize the vehicle.


PROPOSAL REQUIREMENTS

Interested parties should submit a proposal that includes:

  1. Proposed purchase price for the vehicle.
  2. Intended use of the vehicle, if applicable.
  3. Name and contact information of the individual, business, or organization submitting the proposal.
  4. Any additional information the respondent believes should be considered.

Respondents may include photographs, examples of similar projects, or other supporting information with their proposal.

Minimum Purchase Price: The minimum acceptable purchase price for the vehicle is $1,000. Proposals offering less than $1,000 will not be considered. Explore Cherokee County / Tour Tahlequah reserves the right to select a proposal offering more than the minimum purchase price or to reject any or all proposals.


VEHICLE INSPECTION

Prospective respondents are strongly encouraged to inspect the vehicle prior to submitting a proposal.

The vehicle will be available for inspection by appointment.

By submitting a proposal, respondents acknowledge that they have had the opportunity to inspect the vehicle and understand that it is being offered AS-IS, WHERE-IS, with no warranties or guarantees regarding its condition, mechanical operation, roadworthiness, or suitability for a particular purpose.


BUYER RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful respondent will be responsible for:

  • Payment of the agreed purchase price.
  • All costs associated with towing, transportation, and removal of the vehicle.
  • Any repairs, rehabilitation, modifications, or improvements to the vehicle.
  • Title and registration, as applicable.
  • Removal of the existing exterior vehicle wrap and all Explore Cherokee County / Tour Tahlequah organizational logos, branding, graphics, and other identifying materials from the vehicle.

EVALUATION & SELECTION

Proposals will be evaluated based on the following considerations:

  • Proposed purchase price
  • Intended use and proposed disposition of the vehicle
  • Ability to complete the purchase and remove the vehicle
  • Overall value to Explore Cherokee County / Tour Tahlequah
  • Any additional information provided by the respondent

Explore Cherokee County / Tour Tahlequah reserves the right to accept or reject any proposal, reject all proposals, request additional information, negotiate with respondents, or select the proposal determined to be in the best interest of the organization.

The selected respondent will be responsible for all costs associated with payment, transportation, towing, removal, title, registration, repairs, and any other expenses related to the vehicle following the sale.


IMPORTANT NOTICE

THE VEHICLE IS SOLD AS-IS, WHERE-IS. IT IS CURRENTLY NOT IN DRIVABLE CONDITION AND HAS NONFUNCTIONAL BRAKES. THE VEHICLE SHOULD NOT BE DRIVEN FROM ITS CURRENT LOCATION. THE SUCCESSFUL RESPONDENT WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ARRANGING APPROPRIATE TRANSPORTATION OR TOWING.
