I saw a blurb about it on FB two weeks ago. Caught my attention, so we decided to pay it a visit on Saturday. The restaurant sits across the hiway from the Illinois River. You can't see it from the porch because if trees, but it's right there. The building is about a year old and nice. Has a full bar, indoor dining, and a large porch, plus an outdoor stage. We live about an hour away, and the drive is nice. It's literally in the shadow of huge cliffs. We arrived at 1:30, and it was busy. Happy, party environment, but kids are welcome. We looked at the menu, and decided on the Tahlequah Twinkie, a large jalapeño filled with meat, cream cheese, and wrapped in bacon. Very tasty. We had the two meat, which comes with two sides. My wife had brisket and bologna, and u had pork ribs and pulled pork. It was great. Not only that, the portions are large. We have lunch for tomorrow. We brought home their blueberry cobbler cheesecake. The staff was great. Very friendly. We felt like they really wanted us there. We will definitely go back.
Aug 22, 2026 · Google ReviewFinally had the opportunity to give Roxie's a try. Let me say YES, absolutely delicious. The beef rib was amazing. I saw that rib and said Get in my mouth. It was moist and fell right off the bone. The flavor was spot on. The BBQ sauce was different than I ever had. It had a sweet and spicy flavor to it. The potato salad was good. The okra and hot link were also delicous. I also had chopped brisket but I got full from the rib and potato salad, I didnt try it. However my son had chopped brisket sandwhich and said it was yummy. Best BBQ in the area. Love it will be back for another rib on Saturdays.
Jul 1, 2026 · Google ReviewI gotta say, I hate giving a local business 3 starts, but the only reason I’m not giving 2 starts was because of how friendly everyone was. When we walked in we were greeted promptly and shown a list of available and sold out items. This is fine, as I understand how small businesses operate. The problem is, is that when we’re seated we were put at a small table in the back next to the bar. This wouldn’t have been a problem, except it seemed we were out of sight out and mind. It took over 10 minutes to get anyone to come over and even great us. By this time, the couple that had came in after us had already been served their drinks. When I placed my food order, I made sure that I only ordered items that I was told were available upon entry, after another 10-15 minutes, the waiter came out and told me that the ribs I ordered were sold out. I was informed that my only other option was to double up on the brisket or get baloney. Okay… because ribs and baloney are the same, right? They had ribs when we came in, and guess what? When I looked up from my drink, the couple that had come in AFTER us were chowing down on a plate of ribs. This wouldn’t be the biggest issue, except they were out of everything else. They were also out of the beer I order, which isn’t a big deal, but when compounded with the other problems, it sort of is. Chopped brisket was decent, not amazing. The spicy bbq sauce isn’t spicy at all. Sides were good, potato salad was good, mac and cheese was also good. The best thing I had was honestly the side salad. It was made with good and fresh ingredients. Really wish I could review the other meats, but my options were very limited.
Jun 21, 2026 · Google ReviewFinally managed to find time to stop in for lunch with the family. We all ordered different things and everything looked and tasted amazing! I had a three meat plate with spicy sausage, chopped brisket and pulled pork with potato salad and baked beans. Everything on the plate was excellent and there was a lot of it. The rest of the crew ordered ribs, smoked turkey, and a massive brisket sandwich. Zero complaints in regards to the food and the staff was super friendly and helpful!
May 13, 2026 · Google ReviewGiving it a lower score because of the flavors. We both didn't like the burnt ends. The flavor and oiliness were big turn offs. His ribs were good; so was the potato salad. He liked his sliced brisket; I did not. We weren't crazy abt the slaw. I literally had to spit out the pickled onions. The wait staff was good. They crammed in too many tables and so it made it hard to walk around people to get to the table they sat us at. The establishment came by more than once checking on us. That was nice. I was surprised to discover that sides do not come with the $22.99 burnt ends. I ordered two. They charged $10 for both and we didn't even like them. Kinda sad. I wish them well.
