Loved every minute of our adventure here! We stayed in one of the glamping tents. We enjoyed the lookout deck, cooked a few meals at the tent patio and hiked down to the River! Everything was super neat very and clean! The views are amazing! Such a fun getaway for Tahlequah!!
Mar 21, 2026 · Google ReviewOur two night stay in White Oak was spectacular! Proper set up, clean grounds and bathrooms, firewood available on-site, and direct access to the river via a short hike. Live on the lake but grew up on the river and creeks. Lived here nearly 46 years and Cherokee County never ceases to amaze. Another gem we will be visiting again soon.
Apr 19, 2026 · Google ReviewThis past weekend my wife and I celebrated our twentieth wedding anniversary. On the day, we bummed around downtown like we used to when we were much younger and I much fitter. It was a lovely day, with the cherry on top being Patrick Wharburton in Bricktown Comedy Club. To make a whole weekend of it we decided to head out of town the next day with our three kids and rent a cabin. I looked at scores of cabins all over Oklahoma and as I was about to give up on the idea I came across River Bluff Cabins. When I saw pictures of the Eagle Rock Cabin I knew this was the place. What we wanted was room to stretch out, comfort, peace, nature, the stars. A place to get away from the stresses of life. This had all of that and more. The kitchen is well-equipped and spacious. There was coffee and tea, which is almost an automatic 5 stars for me. The two bathrooms were large and clean with enough towels for all five of us and more. And the bedrooms were large and the beds were comfortable. And then there's the back patio! Waking up at dawn and drinking coffee on that patio while watching the sun rise over the foggy river, down in the distance beyond the trees...it was exactly what we all needed so badly. While the kitchen was extremely capable, cooking over an open fire is such a treat. We cooked all of our meals on the ancient cast-iron and stone grill by the fire pit, even experimenting with making chocolate chip cookies in the wood-fired oven section of the grill. They were odd...smokey cookies are odd. And then once the fires were out and the night had grown quite dark we headed to the lookout point to see the stars shining brighter than I've seen them in so very long, right above the river. It was magical. The last thing I'll talk about is the trail down to the river. If you're a bit out of shape and are worried about the trail, read on. I am a large man with quite a bad disability at the moment. Due to numerous injuries and more than a little bit of poor choices I am very much acquainted with constant, debilitating pain while standing or walking. But I wanted to go down to the river. My kids warned me it was a rough hike up and they didn't at all think I could do it, but I had my trusty walking stick and my wife by my side with a folding camp chair. So I gave it a go. The walk down wasn't treacherous by any means. It is a road, but not a paved road. Rather it was paved with rocks of varying size, and these rocks most certainly can be tough to deal with on the way down. I took it slow and made it just fine, though with many stops to rest along the way. It is not far by any means, but it is quite a slope downward. When we got down it was quite the amazing place. We enjoyed an afternoon of fishing, though the fish weren't biting. Or I'm a terrible fisherman. But it was exactly what I wanted. Then came the time to start up, and this I was worried about. But I was pleasantly surprised. The slope down was at an angle that caused my back to yell at me almost unbearably, but going up it released something and the pain was a ghost. The rocks also were a surprise on the way up. While on the way down they were an obstacle and hard to walk on, on the way up they provided a nice solid footing. That isn't to say it was easy. I made it fifteen feet then found a spot to fold out the chair, often on quite a downward slope which was fun, and rest a bit. Then maybe twenty feet before repeating. It was a hard one for me, and if you're disabled beyond simple mind-numbing pain it may not be for you. But if I had missed seeing the river up close I wouldn't have been disappointed. The entire experience was amazing without it. So yes, I would recommend.
Apr 27, 2026 · Google ReviewWe stayed in the Buffalo Cabin and it was amazing!! The view right on the edge of the bluff overlooking the Illinois river is spectacular! The cabin is super clean and the beds are very comfortable. The whole place is serene and relaxing with many tall trees like a canopy. The cabin is completely ADA compatible and has easy access right off of the car port. No steps and wide doorways. Grab bars in the master bathroom, with plenty of room to move around. The river access is a beautiful walk, down a wooded path with signs that point you right to it. We only wish we could have stayed longer!!
Oct 21, 2025 · Google ReviewHad a beautiful wedding at this venue. Owners were super accommodating and did an outstanding job on setup and decor! Lodging options were decorated super cute, were spacious, clean, and very accommodating. Guests had a great time and owners took care of every need. Grounds were very well maintained and kids play area and fire pit areas were great. Highly recommend this property for any events or stays. We used all accommodations while there including the full hook up rv sites. Everything was great at this beautiful private setting!
